Because it’s likely to be the most relaxing thing you’ve experienced...
Floating is all about everything that you won’t be doing. You won’t be fighting gravity. The 850 pounds of Epsom salts in the water takes care of that whilst you lay on your back. The water is kept at 35.3 degrees-this is skin receptor neutral, which means you lose track of where your body ends and the water begins...
Everything you experience whilst floating comes from within yourself. It’s the perfect time to reflect on your life.
People float to reduce stress, recover from injuries, fight addiction, eliminate chronic pain, help with studies…
Floating and Pregnancy
Clients are never sure if it is safe to float whilst they are pregnant; in fact it is fantastic! You can float for the full 9 months and this should be encouraged. It can help relieve the ‘backache and indigestion’ that pregnancy can often bring and is a great way to feel ‘light and weightless’ again, plus it is one of the only times many women can lie on their back whilst heavily pregnant. It is also a wonderful way to connect with your baby.Best of all regular floating can ease the birth process due to the long term relaxation effects.
We offer various floating options including memberships
Welcome to Relax and Float
Floating is all about everything that you won’t be doing.
You won’t be fighting gravity.
The 850 pounds of Epsom salts in the water takes care of that whilst you lay on your back. The water is kept at 35.3 degrees-this is skin receptor neutral, which means you lose track of where your body ends and the water begins.
Your ears stay just below the water and the tank is insulated against sound. Noise from the outside doesn’t reach you. After you shut the door and turn off all the lights, you float in total darkness.
For an hour and a half the outside world is gone and amazing things happen. It turns out when you’re not fighting gravity or constantly taking in information, your body has a lot of extra resources at its disposal.
Your mind is free to mull over things without distraction, your brain pumps out dopamine and endorphins, your body gets to rest, de-stress and heal .
It’s likely to be the most relaxing thing you’ve experienced!

Had the good fortune to visit ‘Relax and Float’ recently, and what an absolute treat it turned out to be.
From a very lovely & knowledgeable host, I was led through to an oasis of calm which the treatment suite clearly was.
A lot of thought has clearly gone into the layout of the suite. With a luxury shower room the relaxation started straight away, and lead to the levels of refreshment and rejuvenation I had hoped to achieve prior to arrival.
Floatation therapy is a magnificent way of getting away from the world, and any nervousness I had at this being my first time was allayed by Jenny’s caring yet professional attitude.
Can’t wait to go back!

Felt I should share my fantastic experience with others. On a miserable cold wintery afternoon I made a booking for a float at “Relax and Float”. Free parking that was a big plus. I was greeted by Jenny who made me feel so welcome. The next hour was sheer Bliss. The float room is the most beautiful azure blue and spotlessly clean. I had an hour float and then had more pampering with the shower facilities and products left for me to use. I left so rejuvenated and relaxed, will be back very soon! Added bonus, close to me, no trekking to middle London

I have floated in many places around the world, so wanted to try Relax and Float. This is not a centre but a private house where the owner has opened up the possibility to float in a private suite. The house is about 10 minutes walk from the station but also has off street parking if you’re driving. I was greeted by Jenny who showed me around the suite and sitting room. A beautiful long haired cat trotted up for “cuddles”-if you’re allergic to cats you better not come here! The room was beautifully lit with candles and gorgeous music. Absolutely loved the float no feeling of claustiphobia, lovely star ceiling lights, I’ve already booked my next visit. Much nicer than commercial centres, more personal

The name “Relax and Float” really sums up my experience. I have always wanted to be able to float but due to ear surgery and problems it was something I thought would always be something I was unable to do. That was until Jenny Heathcote explained that the special silicone ear plugs she supplies actually do prevent water from entering the ear. So for the first time in my life-and I am 61-I was able to experience the bliss of feeling absolutely weightless. What a wonderful sensation floating in the blue with two little underwater lights creating an angelic wing pattern on the ceiling above me.
